Sometimes the world seems to shut us out, shut us down and the challenge is to remain open hearted and as Mitch would say just think "happens". Those on the journey of self awareness know we are the observer, the witness, that its all just a movie yet sometimes it doesnt feel that way.
In the last month (and more) I have had my share of challenges. Staying open and in the space of love has been where I gain the most growth. It is easy to react and close, responding open and with love is where the strength (and juice) lies.
New years day I was hit by a car. Sure its annoying, and two months later its really annoying but remaining open has offered me many gifts. First I realised how often I am competitive, and being physically less capable having to find new strengths beyond this. It is fine for me to choose to compete in the moment, but have realised that an underlying competitiveness, or need to prove something only pushes people away. Great lesson.
Another lesson is to be humble and accept the help, and strength of others. After the accident it was beautiful to experience being cared for. Initially by a mechanic (who strapped my shoulder with ice), then my girlfriend Christie who remained with me through the day and for hours at the hospital and later with Phill (massage therapist) and the body magician Colin from www.ehsproject.com. So many people taking me to a new strength that would not have been possible without me being humbled by the injury. For this I am grateful.
The sessions with Colin are profound, and also truly humbling. Going back to total basics after studying health and fitness for many years has been a challenge. Letting go tonight in the session with Colin and remaining open to what he offers has been making a huge difference.
Ultimately tweaking the small things makes a huge difference to everything else. Having a solid base to work from and then building from that platform is so valuable.
Again this is another example of power vs force. Focusing on the core (of the body mind and soul) strengthens every other area.
Where could you remain open? Where do you need to be humble?
